SUBTRACTION WITH REGROUPING

Begin here:

Then do these practice problems on a whiteboard:

4 + 4 =          6 + 6 =           8 + 8 =           9 + 9 =         3 + 3 =         7 + 7 =         5 + 5 =

14 - 7 =        10 - 5 =         20 - 10 =         16 - 8 =        12 - 6 =        18 - 9 =         8 - 4 =

14 - 8 =        12 - 7 =         20 - 11 =         16 - 9 =        10 - 6 =        18 - 10 =      14 - 8  =

15 - 7 =        13 - 6 =         20 - 9 =           17 - 8 =        13 - 6 =        18 - 8 =        16 - 8  =

HOMEWORK: Write a comment. Tell how a double fact helped you solve two of the yellow subtraction equations.
IT WILL LOOK LIKE:
"I knew the double fact ___ + ___ = ___, so I thought _____."             "First I did _______, then I did _______."

  2. 7 +7 = 14 so I knew 14-8 would be one less because 8 is one more than 7.
    16 - 8 = 8 I knew 8 + 8 = 16.
